THE WHITE ROSE
In a quiet sheltered space of my garden, is a place.
This place is not what you would call particularly important.
It is not someplace unearthly, nor is it something that causes awe.

It is a place that the soil is firm and toiled by my hands,
And as I reach deep into Mother Earth,
this somewhat mundane place becomes a place that is very special.

Rich and fertile, the reward is awe-inspiring;
the white rose has taken root and blooms brilliant in the sunlight.
As I look at the white rose I feel the blessings of this life
and I know the peace of wonder.

How wonderful it is to realize the simplest
Of life’s pleasures can bring us such contentment and joy.
And the white rose blooms.
